The Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan No.324 introduces a requirement for obligatory marking of certain types of imported consumers’ goods before customs clearance for free circulation. The Resolution introduces the Regulation on the order of marking of imported consumers’ goods with special control identification numbers and establishes the List of goods subject to marking, the List of equipment, consumables and software for the interdepartmental database “Marking and Auditing” which are necessary for implementation of the procedure of obligatory marking. Importation and storage of unmarked consumers’ goods which are subject to obligatory marking procedure is prohibited. None-observance of this compulsory requirement shall be deemed to be a violation of trading procedure and fall under appropriate liability measures. Sale of unmarked goods imported before January 1, 2012 may be performed till July 1, 2012. For these goods to pass the marking procedure enterprises must submit applications and documents confirming customs clearance of the goods to local departments of the State Customs Committee. The State Customs Committee may also mark goods by visiting the sale and storage sites. Effective January 1, 2012.
